tecsar (Tertiary Education Consultancy and Solutions for Academic Registries) is a limited company through which Bruce Johnson offers his services on a consultancy basis to Universities and Colleges across the UK and beyond, and to government agencies and commercial suppliers working within the sector.
Bruce has extensive management and operational experience across University administration, and Academic Registries and student record systems in particular.
His career has particularly focussed on leading and managing projects delivering robust business processes through IT systems - both in-house developed and third-party packages - and on owning/managing the overall processes and systems once implemented. A key skill has been the ability to actually make systems work in practice.
He has a keen interest and expertise in student-related statutory returns and related surveys and publications, the validation and QA processes that (should) underpin them (e.g. data management), the rigour of those business and system processes, the outcomes/impacts that depend on submitted data and their inter-linkages, and the maximisation of outcomes to an institution's strategic benefit (financial and reputational).
